I contract directly with treatment centers and psychiatric clinics facilitating powerful group work for addiction and mental health. I currently conduct groups in detox, PHP and IOP programs. My curriculum combines personal empowerment, radical ownership, emotional development and holistic healing. I am in active recovery from drugs and alcohol, codependency, addiction to food, and sex and love. My background enables me to establish rapport with clients and build the trust that is essential to facilitate meaningful self-reflection and growth. My methods incorporate education and personal development on the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and energetic planes to help clients find balance in their recovery. I love seeing people get better, and I am really good at helping them get there.
See below to view the wide range of therapeutic techniques that I practice within the group dynamic.Â
I use psychoeducation in order to empower clients to make the most informed decisions about their care. Awareness and understanding of a diagnosis increases confidence and motivation to address problems head on.
I use motivational interviewing in order to generate critical thinking and inspire clients to discover that they already know far more than they realize. This technique allows clients to come to their own conclusions and realizations based on their unique perspectives and experiences.
Energy work encourages clients to analyze their health from a holistic perspective. It brings awareness to clients’ physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic condition.
I utilize vulnerability in order to build safety, trust and connection. Vulnerability dispels guilt and shame and creates an environment of openness and healing.
Goal setting taps into motivation and imagination. It is helpful for clients to visualize the things they want for their future to begin creating the belief that it is possible for them to be happy and whole.
When we create awareness, we are given the power of choice. I guide clients through understanding fear, resentment, anger, control, shame, guilt and regret. We break these concepts down into understandable terms and use self-reflective tools to explore what lies underneath.
Happiness lies in our thoughts, beliefs and perspectives. When utilized appropriately, positive thinking cultivates feelings of hope, contentment, gratitude, purpose and joy.
Empowerment is the concept of finding power within ourselves. This can be achieved by shifting our attention and focus to what is in our control while owning the role that we are playing in the experiences we are having. Our realm of power is within ourselves, and we can only get there by taking personal responsibility.
The practice of meditation is the deepest exploration of self. Meditation shows us the things within ourselves that are longing to be discovered. Mindfulness connects us to the present moment, allowing us to accept the past and release obsessive control over the future. Without mindfulness, we can never truly be at ease.
